Reforming the Workplace: An Update on Japan’s Current Labor and Employment Law and How Japan Compares to Other Global Economies (Chubu Event)
Revisions to Japanese employment law aiming to reform work practices are expected to pass through Congress very soon. We are delighted to host Mr. Trent Sutton and Ms. Aki Tanaka, employment lawyers who specialize international employment laws, to discuss cutting edge labor and employment issues. Topics for discussion will include the new legislation in Japan and recent landmark cases, plus advice for employers in Japan. Comparisons will also be drawn to contrast the proposed legislation with employment schemes in other countries.
Ms. Tanaka and Mr. Sutton are attorneys at Littler Mendelson, the largest labor and employment law firm in the world with over 1500 attorneys and 75 offices. They specialize in international employment law and advise multinational employers with regard to global workforce initiatives and strategies in numerous countries including Asia, Europe, and Latin America, and especially in Japan (Aki’s native country).
