Prof. John Darwin Van Fleet on the History of Tokyo and Current Japan-China Relations.
Join us on July 7 for a luncheon of learning with Prof. John Darwin Van Fleet, Assistant Dean, USC Marshall School of Business in Shanghai. Professor Van Fleet recently published “Tales of Old Tokyo” and is a regular contributor to various publications on the topic of Tokyo and China-Japan relations.
This will be a unique opportunity to learn about Tokyo from 1853 to 1964. This remarkable time marks the end of Edo Period isolation and the beginning of Japan’s entrance onto the global stage. Stories and knowledge from this period can provide deep insight into working with Japan and Japanese companies from an international point of view.
Professor Van Fleet’s experience in Japan, knowledge of Tokyo’s history, and update from Shanghai will certainly provide great food for thought and add to your perspective on your experience here.
The luncheon will be held at the ACCJ office for a more informal and personal discussion with the Author.
