"Teaching is a job that tries English speakers’ souls. The summer paato and the sunshine baito will, in this economy, shrink from the service of one’s wallet." (with apologies to Thomas Paine)
Are you tired of being unemployed, or employed in a position that doesn’t utilize your strengths? If so, come listen to this panel discussion on job hunting in Japan.
Our panelists offer a refreshing alternative to the notion that the only jobs for foreigners are low-paying English teaching positions. A networking session will follow the discussion.
Featured Panelists (in alphabetical order):
Peter Lackner: CEO, JobsInJapan.com.
Mr. Lackner is an expert on how companies search for great employees online. Details of resume preparation, keyword choice, and different levels of jobs (including higher-paying and more specialized English teaching opportunities) are all on the table as topics.
Ken Shimabuku: Senior Director – West Japan, CDS Consulting (Osaka Office)
Mr. Shimabuku will offer insight into breaking into the market for bilingual professionals. CDS Consulting is the bilingual executive arm of Recruit Group.
Yoshiko Tsuchiya: Director of Human Resources, Hilton Nagoya
Ms. Tsuchiya will talk about the hotel and hospitality industry's demand for bilingual and multilingual locals. She will offer an inside look on what these jobs entail, and what she looks for in an ideal candidate.
