Join us to understand the issues that are driving today’s headlines.
The period through 2020 will be eventful for Japan. Ongoing risks include the North Korean threat while important elections are expected later this year. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's electoral victory in 2017 has given him the political capital to push his economic policies and constitutional reforms.
During this session, Nikkei Deputy Editor Shin Nakayama will outline the agenda for Japanese politics in the upcoming years along with expected timetables and possible outcomes. He will also talk about the business, political and societal implications of Abe’s fourth cabinet and offer insights into the years leading to 2020.
With over 20 years experience covering the prime minister’s office and Liberal Democratic Party in Japan, as well as the White House, State Department, Pentagon and Congress in the U.S., Nakayama has the knowledge and know-how to provide valuable information about the various scenarios now unfolding and their potential impact on businesses.
