The mandate of the Task Force is to support the growth of broad-ranging U.S. businesses working on cyber security in the Japanese market and to increase the market size of secure digital technology industries.
The Task Force aims to develop policies and frameworks should leverage existing frameworks and standards that support technological innovation and growth, and encourage interoperability and support for the adoption of voluntary, risk-based approach and industry-led standards to cybersecurity through proactive discussions with government and industry stakeholders. It also aims to support strong public-private partnerships with the U.S. and Japan governments to extend bilateral collaboration and government-industry partnerships to maintain global leadership in the cyber security field.
The task force is placed under the ACCJ’s Information, Communications and Technology Committee with vice-chairs from defense and banking/insurance industries, and members from ICT and other industry sectors. The task force is aligned with Internet Economy Task Force and High Performance Computing Task Force. The task force also includes representation from SME members.
