For tenants whose businesses are severely impacted, such as retailers and restaurants, urgent relief is needed. The Japanese government has requested that landlords be flexible about handling requests from tenants. That being said, landlords have large expenses as well, including debt service, maintenance and payroll. Their ability to assist tenants is limited. This event, jointly hosted by the SME CEO Advisory Council and the Real Estate Committee, will feature two speakers with long experience in landlord/tenant relations. James Fink of Halifax Associates, who advises many major international corporations on real estate requirements, will speak to the office market. Seth Sulkin of Pacifica Capital, will address retailers, restaurants and hotels.

Speaker: Mark Hosang,ITO and IT Consultant / Chair, Program Committee - Chubu Hosting Committee: Program Committee - Chubu Many of us are currently struggling to adjust to the various changes in business that Covid-19 has brought about. In earlier times, it would have been easy to casually talk about your difficulties to other members before and after other ACCJ events. However, with the move to online events and social distancing, it has become increasingly difficult to reach out to other members for assistance. We aim to address that with the Brainstorming Event, where we will utilize Zoom's breakout rooms to share with a small group your issue and to provide possible solutions to others in your group. If you have a problem you'd like assistance with or if you enjoy helping your fellow ACCJ members, this event is the one for you.

IQVIA JAPAN 2020 PHARMA MARKET INSIGHTS: OUTLOOK TO 2024THIS IS A FREE VIRTUAL EVENT
Speaker: Alan Thomas, Director, Thought Leadership, IQVIA Japan K.K. Hosting Committees: Healthcare; Digital Health; Medical Devices and Diagnostics; Pharmaceuticals; Regenerative Medicine and Bioscience Member Fee: ¥0 Guest Fee: ¥0 Registration/Cancellation Deadline: Wednesday, April 15, (Noon) This event will be hosted as a webinar. Instructions for joining the virtual meeting will be sent to registered attendees after the above stated deadline.
Structural shifts in Japan’s pharmaceutical market are challenging the status quo. Recent advancements in the development of breakthrough therapies are changing the way in which we treat diseases and catalyzing significant reform in government policy. Strategic opportunities—including in specialty and biologics—alongside investment in innovation and launch underline Japan’s position as the second-largest market for R&D-driven pharma companies. However, continued pressure on healthcare spending is impacting both government policy and pharma-company strategy as a balance emerges to support patient access to newer, safer, more effective treatments. While companies that made the shift in strategy reap their rewards, those that did not are now reassessing their position. Join this “must” event for the pharma industry at which Alan Thomas, Director of Thought Leadership at IQVIA Japan K.K., will discuss these and other issues impacting the Japan market today and in the years ahead. John W. Carlson III, Chair William Bishop, Yuko Kidoguchi, Takeo Morooka, Toshio Nagase, R. Byron Sigel, Mika Shirai Vice Chairs ACCJ Healthcare Committee NOTE 1: This event is OFF THE RECORD.
