Event Overview: Please join us for a Women in Business special mentor luncheon with former senior national security lawyer in the Obama and George W. Bush Administrations, Ms. Caroline Krass. At this special event, Ms. Krass will speak to the challenges and successes she has faced throughout her distinguished and varied career. She will touch on the pivotal moments in her career, and talk about the role of mentors and sponsors in helping her to accelerate her progression. Lastly, Ms. Krass will also cover how she stays grounded and well connected with her family despite her elevated position and the immense pressures she faces. About Caroline Krass: Ms. Krass was a senior national security lawyer in the Obama and George W. Bush Administrations and is widely known for her expertise, both in the United States and abroad. Ms. Krass was appointed and also served as the General Counsel of the CIA by President Obama, following overwhelming Senate confirmation on a bipartisan basis in March 2014. As General Counsel, she served as the agency’s Chief Legal Officer, principal legal advisor to the CIA Director, and a trusted member of the Senior Leadership Team, overseeing more than 150 attorneys and advising on complex, highly sensitive legal and policy issues, including cybersecurity and privacy, foreign investment in the U.S. and export controls, government investigations and litigation, crisis management and congressional relations. Since March this year, Ms. Krass has been as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, General Insurance and Deputy General Counsel of the American International Group (AIG), overseeing the general insurance global legal department and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for that business unit within AIG. Ms. Krass is also as a member of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Law and National Security. She also serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the Georgetown Law Cybersecurity Law Institute, and as an advisor to two elements of the U.S. Intelligence Community.
