Event Overview:
Please join us for a discussion with Dr. Phyllis Genther Yoshida, former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, Europe and the Americas at the U.S. Department of Energy and current Senior Fellow for Energy and Technology at Sasakawa USA. Dr. Yoshida will be in Tokyo to discuss her recent edited volume, "Japan’s Energy Conundrum,” which examines Japan’s energy policies from a historical perspective—as well as in the context of recent challenges, including the Great East Japan Earthquake, the resulting disaster at Fukushima Daiichi, and dramatic changes in the global market—and recommends what Japan should consider going forward. After a presentation on the findings of this volume, attendees will have the chance to discuss energy market deregulation and other pressing changes in Japan with Dr. Yoshida and her colleagues.
