Event Overview:
Every year individuals are tasked with filing a U.S. tax return. While this task may be relatively straightforward for individuals living in the U.S., the same cannot be said for individuals living abroad. Taxpayers living abroad are faced with the challenge of dealing with multi-national taxes, while having to comply with different reporting procedures and additional filing requirements. To make things even more complex, the U.S. tax laws are constantly changing every year, and 2016 is no exception. The Internal Revenue Service has released information on a number of tax changes for the 2016 tax year. It is important to stay up to date with these tax changes and understand the impact it will have on taxpayers living overseas. In 2016, Donald Trump elected as the 45th President of the United States. A new President also means new tax reforms. President Trump has proposed many changes to our current tax law. This event will cover some of the proposed changes which may have a significant impact on taxpayers globally. Important Changes for 2016 - Tax Brackets, Standard Deduction & Personal Exemption - Foreign Earned Income Exclusion and Housing Deduction - Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) Renewal - New Foreign Bank Account Report (FBAR) Deadline and Extension - Other Changes Hot Topics - Foreign Tax Credit and Foreign Earned Income Exclusion - Offshore Compliance Options, including Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures - Totalization Agreement Please join us on April 6.
