Event Overview:
In today's world, international travel can expose individuals to a rapidly expanding number of risks. For women, these risks are often magnified, especially in certain regions of the world. In response, risk-aware organizations are increasingly providing tailored training for their employees. ACCJ members frequently travel overseas. Destinations and airports that were considered safe in the past have increasingly become vulnerable to security risks. We would like to give members the opportunity to have a lunchtime session to learn more about the most important aspects of international travel security. Please take some time out of your schedule to learn how to better prepare yourself, your colleagues, and your family for the risks associated with international travel. Our guest speaker, Ms. Elizabeth Harvey, has global responsibility for the day-to-day security preparedness and response activities for all AIG properties and employees worldwide. In her talk, she will address recent trends in crime and security risks in various destinations. She will also cover what to do in preparation of travel, tips on transportation and hotel security, and personal safety techniques. Ms. Harvey joined AIG in 2005 after completing military service as a Captain in the U.S. Military Police Corps. She currently leads Global Operations and Investigations for AIG Global Security. Her department is the "boots on the ground" and is strategically positioned throughout the globe. The department duties range from internal investigations, employee training, directs response to real world incidents, oversight of security technology equipment, and executive protection missions. If you are planning an international trip in the near future, this is an event that you won't want to miss. Both women and men alike are welcome to attend this session.
