NOTE: This event will be held in English, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided for Japanese speakers 【日本語同時通訳付き】 Event Overview:
2017 has brought us a climate of uncertainty. How will the new U.S. presidential administration affect the global travel business? What impact will Brexit have? Europe is subject to terrorist attacks, which are impacting tourism. Political tensions are rising in Asia. What will happen to oil prices? Will climate change accords be scrapped as the new U.S. presidential administration shows less enthusiasm? Low-cost carrier (LCC) travel is increasing in popularity: What does this mean for the traditional airlines? Japan is undergoing airport consolidation. And who knows what's next? All of these issues, and uncertainty itself, impact the global airline industry. Alexandre de Juniac brings nearly three decades of experience to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). IATA is the trade association for the world's airlines, representing some 265 airlines or 83% of total air traffic. IATA supports many areas of aviation activity with global standards and helps formulate industry policy on critical issues such as climate change, safety, and security. Mr. de Juniac served as Chairman and CEO of Air France-KLM (2013-2016), and prior to that, as Chairman and CEO of Air France (2011-2013). Under Mr. de Juniac's leadership, Air France and Air France-KLM underwent a restructuring that improved efficiency and strengthened performance. Previously, he spent 14 years at Thales, the French aerospace, space, defense, security, and air transportation company. He has also served on the IATA Board of Governors (2013-2016), and previously held various positions in the French government. Please join us for what promises to be an entertaining and informative discussion on how the uncertain times we live in will impact your favorite airline, your business, and how you get around the world.
