Miho Konishi, Lighting Director of the Architectural Lighting Group (ALG) and who designed the lighting for Tokyo American Club, will speak about how light impacts our culture, living space and lifestyle through various topics and perspectives as a second generation lighting designer after learning from her father, a pioneer in architectural lighting design.
Ms. Konishi will speak about the attractiveness, role and value lighting design, and how light impacts our culture, living space and lifestyle, asking...
What is light? Why become a lighting designer?
What are some of the differences in the sense of light between Western and Japanese designs?
How to unravel lighting design from art and architecture?
She will also cover the lighting design revealed in the Tokyo American Club; discuss the latest lighting trends from the Lighting Fair in Frankfurt in 2018; and broaden discussion to SDGs and lighting to give a view on the world we hope to achieve in 2030 through lighting.
