11/15/2018 The IT Start-Up Market - Bringing the benefits and culture of Silicon Valley to JapanRead Now
Event Overview:
Start-ups have become the norm, whether you are working for one or working with one. Thanks to the support of accelerators, incubators, venture capitalists, and co-working spaces, it’s easier than ever to form a start-up and get your business off the ground. Recognizing the value of these companies—and the innovation they bring—countries and cities are competing to provide the most-friendly environment for start-ups as a way of boosting their economy. Despite the viral nature of the term, the true nature of start-ups and the resources that support them may be less familiar. What does an accelerator do? What makes Silicon Valley and Japan different? How are start-ups changing the way large corporations are approaching innovation? These are all questions that Phillip Vincent, Managing Partner of Plug and Play Japan KK, will answer as he explains the workings of the start-up ecosystem and why accelerators such as his are an integral part of a start-up’s journey. Established in July 2017, Plug and Play Japan aims to connect the high-tech culture of Japan and greater Asia with the rest of the world. By bringing the benefits and culture of Silicon Valley to Japan, Plug and Play is providing Japan-based start-ups with global access like never before.
