Event Overview:
Jonathan Siegel has worn many hats: naïve coder, founder, mentor, consultant, and clear-eyed investor. In this session, he will deconstruct what makes businesses and individuals successful. By distilling the lessons learned from the tech companies he has founded and invested in, he’ll share the insights he has gained from both sides, as well as how you can apply these lessons to your professional life. Siegel studied for a PhD in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Brown University. He also knows business—in particular, the tech business. From startups and his earliest “You’ll never eat lunch in this town again” failures to the string of successful “Right” companies that he built and sold on, right through to his current incarnation in Xenon Ventures, where he invests in high-margin SaaS companies, Siegel has learned along the way what works and what doesn’t. There are no hard-and-fast or surefire rules for success, but Siegel has built an approach that now has a world-class batting average—and he’s happy to share the insights, lessons, and pitfalls of his journey with you. The session will be highly interactive with plenty of time for Q&A, and we look forward to seeing you there.
