6/16/2017 Selecting the Right VISA to Do Business in the United States: New Developments Since the Presidential Election and What to Expect Going ForwardRead Now
Event Overview:
On November 7, 2016, Richard Goldstein addressed us on the likely impact of the U.S. presidential election on U.S. immigration policy and practice. As you know, immigration has continued to be a hot-button issue in the U.S. even after the election. Some (sometimes controversial) actions have occurred in the U.S. Where is the immigration issue now? Has it settled down? Can we see a way for a stable business related immigration and visa market? This presentation will review selection of an appropriate business visa for companies, investors and individuals seeking to do business in and/or travel to the U.S. We will also look at significant changes that have occurred, or are likely to occur shortly, in U.S. immigration and visa laws, regulations and policies under the present administration. For those who attended last November, this is an opportunity to get an important “post-election” update on the situation. For those who missed the presentation last November, this program will help get you up to speed on the situation. We are very pleased to welcome Clay Adler, who has now been Chief of the Visa Section at the U.S. Embassy for two years, and is on the front line of (any) procedural and policy changes, together with Richard S. Goldstein, a U.S. immigration lawyer with offices in New York and London, who has been coming to Japan twice a year since 1980 for business and to lecture on U.S. and international immigration matters.
