Event Overview:
The Tourism Industry Committee will be hosting Mr. Yoshiharu Hoshino (CEO, Hoshino Resorts, Inc.). Hoshino Resorts has been dubbed as the "Toyota of Tourism (in Japan)" and is known for its high-end ryokan-style properties which attract Japanese and foreign guests alike. Hoshino Resorts is a family business run by its American-educated scion, Yoshiharu Hoshino, and is run differently from traditional ryokans and global hotel chains. Mr. Hoshino will describe the history of the family business, as well as how his company tries to differentiate from other hotel operators.
