Event Overview:
Pocket Sun is one of the most prominent young female venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in Asia. Together with business partner Elizabeth Galbut, she founded SoGal Ventures, the first female-led millennial venture capital firm that invests globally in diverse entrepreneurs, with a focus on how the next generation lives, works, and stays healthy. SoGal Ventures has invested in nearly 60 startups, including EverlyWell, Inc., Function of Beauty, and Lovevery. Sun will describe what is important to millennials and Generation Z, those born between the mid-1990s and early 2000s. With a next-generation focus, she will talk about the startups in which she is currently investing, the investment trends to follow—some of which may be surprising!—and the investment opportunities that fund entrepreneurial women. Based in Singapore, Sun is a sought-after speaker at events such as the Microsoft CEO Summit, Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, TEDx, and Slush. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Southern California, and, shortly after, at the age of 24, became one of the youngest people to be featured on the cover of Forbes magazine.
