Event Overview:
Agricultural interests are a key to the success of trade relationships with the United States, and the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) is one of the leading players. On February 3, NPPC Vice President and Counsel Nick Giordano will be visiting Tokyo from Washington, DC, to share his insights on trade strategies and negotiations with Japan and China, as well as to talk about the broader U.S. trade agenda. The NPPC will be observing implementation of the recent Japan–US trade agreement and is supportive of a larger bilateral pact between the United States and Japan. Giordano will also comment on the current state of play in Washington and will welcome input from our members. About the Speaker Nick Giordano leads the NPPC’s DC office and is involved in all aspects of policy issues as they impact the interests of US pork producers. On behalf of the NPPC, he has taken a leadership role in working for congressional passage and implementation of every major trade agreement during the past 20 years. He has chaired various food and agriculture trade coalitions, including the Agriculture Coalition for US–Colombia Trade and the Agriculture Coalition for US–Korea Trade, both of which were formed to help secure congressional passage of free trade agreements.
