[This workshop will be conducted in Japanese with key points summarized in English.]
After introduction of the My Number System in Japan, people are still wondering how it works and are confused about what they need to do. A thorough understanding of how it works is very critical and useful for individuals (including resident foreigners) and important for business owners and management who are required to gather and handle the information to be provided by their employees. In this informative presentation, Mr. Furusho will introduce the basics of the My Number System and the current status of its implementation. You will have an opportunity to explore: 1. What is My Number? Why was it introduced? What is the difference between My Number and the U.S. Social Security Number? 2. What do you need to know as a resident foreigner or Japanese individual? In what situation should you provide your My Number? What if your My Number is leaked? 3. What are some of the watch outs as a business owner or management? What do you need to do to maintain and protect employee privacy? 4. What are the future plans for utilization of My Number? What is the implementation schedule of such utilization plans?
