Event Overview: Join us for an engaging discussion with Mr. Kohzoh Takaoka, President and CEO of Nestlé Japan, on recent consumer trends in Japan, how the retail environment in Japan has changed over the years, and areas of opportunity. Mr. Takaoka, a 30 year veteran of Nestlé Japan, started his career in beverage sales and marketing and later moved to Nestlé Japan’s confectionery company, where he became president in 2005. As president, he propelled the KitKat brand in Japan to the top by making it a lucky charm for entrance exams, developing limited edition and local flavors, and turning the brand into one of the top souvenirs for domestic travelers. In January of 2010, he was made Representative Director & Executive Vice President, Beverage Business Group, Nestlé Japan Ltd. and that November became the Representative Director, President and CEO, Nestlé Japan Ltd. Mr. Takaoka excels at creating innovations that preemptively address consumer needs, and implements training to build this skill through Nestlé Japan’s Innovation Awards program. Mr. Takaoka is author of numerous works, including his recent book 21st Century Marketing: Digitalization and Transformation through Innovation coauthored with Prof. Philip Kotler and Dr. Mark Opresnik. In 2014, Mr. Takaoka was selected as one of 37 Internationalists in the world for his outstanding marketing by The Internationalist. Karl H. Hahne, Kiran S.
