China, the U.S., and Japan are the top three e-commerce markets in the world, but international brands vary considerably in their success in these channels. Long-time China hand Frank Lavin will present on China e-commerce, discuss how international brands succeed in this market, and offer approaches that might apply to the Japan market as well.
Bio: In government and the private sector, Frank Lavin has devoted most of his professional life to helping U.S. businesses enter and win in new markets, with a particular emphasis on China. Lavin directed export promotion and trade negotiation as Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade. Previously, he served as Ambassador to Singapore and on the White House and NSC staff. In the private sector, he worked in banking in Hong Kong and Singapore and in public affairs for Edelman. He is currently the CEO of Export Now, the largest off-shore operator of e-commerce stores in China. Export Now has run China e-commerce stores for over 100 different brands. Karl H.
