The ACCJ is pleased to host visionary leader Mr. Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company and a director of DowDuPont. He previously served as Executive Chairman of DowDuPont.
Mr. Liveris will share his views on the role of the private sector to advance a new kind of capitalism – Inclusive Capitalism – to not only generate profits for companies, but also to create value and prosperity for society as a whole.
Innovation and global commerce are forces for progress, but have not benefited everyone equally. In fact, a majority of average incomes in 25 advanced economies stagnated or declined between 2005 and 2014, according to McKinsey Global Institute. Mr. Liveris' vision of Inclusive Capitalism is to fix the broken global economy and “re-embrace the purest purpose of business: solving problems and improving people’s lives.”
A recognized global business leader with more than 40 years at Dow, Mr. Liveris' career has spanned roles in manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management around the world. During more than a decade as Dow’s CEO, he has led the company’s transformation from a cyclical chemicals manufacturing company into a novel enterprise - one powered by science, driven by innovation and delivering solutions to the world.
Please join us for this excellent opportunity to hear Mr. Liveris' insights on how our society today can move towards Inclusive Capitalism and make the global economy a force for good.
