Secretary General Sasaki will discuss market conduct trends and highlight key SESC challenges. In addition, he will offer insight into Japan’s successful bid to establish in Tokyo the permanent secretariat of IFIAR (International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators) – an office that will be launched in April 2017. About Secretary General Sasaki: Kiyotaka Sasaki joined Japan’s Ministry of Finance in 1983. After creation of the Financial Services Agency (FSA) in 1998, Mr. Sasaki was given responsibility for tackling Japanese bank non-performing loans through development of a risk-based approach to on-site examinations as well as enhanced cooperation with supervisory bodies overseas. Since 2005, Mr. Sasaki’s positions have included SESC Enforcement Division Director, which focuses on market misconduct, and as SESC Strategy and Policy Coordination Division Director.
