There's global momentum to add more women to corporate leadership, specifically to boards of companies, through a variety of initiatives, some more successful than others. What is the business rationale for these efforts? Irene Natividad will provide an overview of where women are on corporate boards globally, sharing regional comparisons, country comparisons and a view of best performing companies. Based on nearly two decades of global research on women who serve on boards, Ms. Natividad will define which initiatives have worked, and why such efforts from the public and private sectors remain necessary.
Ms. Natividad is President of the Global Summit of Women, a 26-year-old gathering of women leaders in business and government who come together to share strategies for accelerating women?s economic progress globally. The Summit, a program of the GlobeWomen Research & Education Institute, convenes over 1,000 women ranging from women heads of state, vice presidents, cabinet ministers, members of parliament, CEOs, and senior executives from multinationals. She also serves as Chair of Corporate Women Directors International (CWDI), which conducts research on women on boards globally and brings together women corporate directors on issues of corporate governance.
