Event Overview
Come participate in a cross-cultural interactive performance about Hiroshi, a Japanese manager who works for a US company in Japan. We will leverage the power of stories to examine cross-cultural misunderstandings and roadblocks that distract and frustrate managers, hinder business, and derail careers in the multicultural workplace. This interactive performance integrates a live stage play with lively small-group discussion and discovery. Come learn something new, share and compare your own stories, and consider new ways of putting yourself into the shoes of others in a friendly, small group environment. You’ll also be supporting cross-cultural academic research being conducted at Hitotsubashi University in the process. This event is aimed at anyone—newbie or veteran—whose work crosses cultures. About the Speakers Leland Gaskins is author of Step Up: Overcoming Cross-Cultural Differences Between Japanese and Western Businesspeople. Leland combines innovative approaches with real-world experience gained through more than 20 years of working with individuals and companies from all sides of this cultural divide to help people and their organizations succeed.
