7/29/2016 How the Digital Economy and "Digital Aid" Can Revitalize Rural Japan and Transform Japanese SocietyRead Now
Event Overview:
We are pleased to announce that folks from the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce will be joining us for this event. Technology is often perceived with fear or anxiety, especially by older generations and people in rural areas. With a rapidly aging and shrinking population, rural Japan faces many demographic challenges to keep its industry competitive and to provide services to its citizens. Our presenter,Hiroshige Sugihara (Senior Vice President, Oracle Corporation; Representative Executive Officer, President & CEO of Oracle Japan), will share his ideas on how technology can be a great benefit to society and help Japan resolve many of its future challenges. Mr. Sugihara will explain why he avoids the term “Digital Disruption” which invokes fear, and instead prefers to use “Digital Aid” which is much more friendly. This presentation will touch all areas of society from healthcare, logistics, government, business, and entertainment and will include case studies from the US and Japan. Mike Benner, Darren McKellin, Co-Chairs William Dallyn, Imai Jen-La Plante, John Kirch, Vice Chairs Yoshitaka Sugihara, Board Liaison ACCJ Information, Communications and Technology Committee Timothy Connor, Ruth Marie Jarman, Aron Kremer, Robert Melson, Co-Chairs Debbie Howard, Board Liaison ACCJ Special Events Committee NOTE 1: This event is ON THE RECORD.
