5/30/2017 How Foreign Venture Firms Bridge the Gap Between Japanese Startups and Traditional Japanese CompaniesRead Now
Event Overview: Japan has a vibrant VC market with many young and creative entrepreneurs creating new businesses daily. Many of these businesses are built with the intention of being sold in a "trade sale" to larger Japanese companies. Major Japanese corporations are interested in these businesses but have a hard time understanding their business models, valuing them and integrating their personnel following acquisition. Foreign VC funds can help and have found a niche in "bridging the cultural gap" between Japanese VCs and major Japanese firms. Our June VC Breakfast speaker will be Akira Kurabayashi, the Manager of Draper Nexus Ventures, whose firm facilitates these transitions. Please join us to learn more about Japan's VC/Megafirm "culture gap" and how Draper Nexus builds bridges between the two. For more information about the speaker, please click here.
