Event Overview:

In April 2019, Bank of America appointed Tamao Sasada as Country Executive and President for Japan, making her one of two women in the top two leadership posts- an unusual step for a financial institution. In 2019, women have risen to leadership posts at several Japanese financial companies, including Nomura Asset Management, Daiwa Securities, and Monex, Inc.

Sasada’s appointment reflects Bank of America’s efforts to foster more female leaders, as well as a broader industry push for better governance through such means as leadership diversity.

We are pleased to welcome Sasada, who joined Merrill Lynch Japan Securities, a subsidiary of Bank of America, in 1998, and previously co-headed the investment banking team. She will speak to Diversity and Inclusion in financial services as well as the evolution of investment banking and the financial industry in general since the Global Financial Crisis in 2008. Given her experience assisting many Japanese banks and financial institutions with their international expansion efforts, this is a discussion not to be missed!

The format of this event will start as a conversation on stage, and the speaker will welcome questions and comments from the audience.
