In May of 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will take effect. The purpose of GDPR is to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the EU. It will impact companies, government agencies, non-profits, and other organizations that offer services to people in the EU, or that collect and analyze data tied to EU residents. Lack of compliance could lead to significant sanctions of up to 4% of total global annual turnover or EUR 20 million. Will your organization be able to comply? At this event, you will learn: • A brief overview of GDPR • Best practices for compliance • GDPR case studies • The impact of GDPR on innovation About the Speaker: Karsten Klein, PhD, is the founder and CEO of KLEIN K.K., an advisory firm that focuses on services in the areas of risk management, operations, and FinTech. Prior to this role, Karsten was working for financial institutions in London and Tokyo. He has over 15 years of expertise in financial risk management, operations, and systems, with extensive leadership experience. Prior to working in the financial service industry, he was working in technology research and development. Karsten received his PhD in electronic engineering from the University of Cambridge.
