We are pleased to welcome Jean Wynn (Managing Director & CAO to the President, Karen Peetz) of BNY Mellon, the world's largest custody bank, the sixth largest investment management firm, and the seventh largest wealth management firm in the United States.
As a child, Ms. Wynn lived in Tokyo for four years, attending the Sacred Heart International School, and she can provide an interesting perspective that many of us in Tokyo can identify with-school in Tokyo, university in the U.S. (at Marymount College, now known as Fordham University), followed by a career in international business. She joined BNY Mellon in 1980 as a management trainee in commercial banking, and she now provides oversight to a variety of company-wide initiatives in the areas of organization development, sales effectiveness, and employee engagement. Ms. Wynn also manages several business development functions within Global Client Management and leads BNY Mellon's Global Innovation program. Ms. Wynn will talk about her career and her experiences, focusing on the journey from Hiroo to the top levels of Wall Street while juggling family life along the way. In addition, leveraging her organization development experience, she will talk about the benefit of employee resource groups within companies and how they can be used to advance corporate objectives and, ultimately, contribute to the bottom line. Also, she will share best practices and lessons learned from using employee resource groups to promote diversity, as well as the importance of sponsorship.
