Event Overview
nova (n.): a sudden brightening of a star as a result of material coming from a companion star. The Chubu Women in Business Committee invites you to our fourth Bella Nova Night, a networking event for working women, at Halelani Terrace. Please join us and share your light! The event is open to all working women and is designed to create a welcoming space where each participant can shine brightly and strengthen her network. Each Bella Nova Night kicks off with the Bella Nova Spotlight, where a featured participant shares a thumbnail sketch of her life and career journey. This time, our spotlight will shine on Ms. Avril Haye-Matsui, who has lived and worked in Japan for more than two decades. She is the co-founder of the Black Women in Japan group and creator of the Nagoya Women’s Empowerment Circle. Creating supportive communities of women is one of her missions, and she strongly believes that, together, women can change the world. As a mother of two biracial children, she is also deeply concerned with issues of multiculturalism and racial discrimination in Japan—topics on which she is regularly asked to give talks. Avril Haye-Matsui originally comes from England and resides in Aichi with her husband and children. This is an informal event for women only. We look forward to seeing you there!
