In light of the March 15 filing deadline, the ACCJ Taxation Committee is proud to present this annual event, conducted in English, which aims to provide a general overview of individual Japan taxation. It will be a helpful introduction for those new to Japan. For everyone else, this event will be a great refresher course on the general issues and challenges faced in meeting individual income tax obligations in Japan.
We will also cover some items of interest to HR and Mobility coordinators, who may be tasked with assisting their foreign population with their filings. The individual tax topics to be covered will be: - who is required to file - reporting taxable income - employees versus self-employed - employer filings - assets reporting - some expected changes for 2018 -inheritance tax update Although the event is primarily targeted at foreigners subject to Japanese income tax, many of the topics discussed are also relevant to Japanese members. So we encourage our Japanese members to attend as well if they are interested in learning more about current developments in Japanese personal income tax. Brian Douglas, Edwin T. Whatley, Marcus Wong, Co-Chairs ACCJ Taxation Committee NOTE 1: Although this presentation is ON THE RECORD, the Q&A session will be OFF THE RECORD. NOTE 2: If you cancel after the stated deadline, the full meeting fee will be charged to your account. Sorry, no substitutions or walk-ins. NOTE 3: If you are driving to Tokyo American Club, please inform the ACCJ in advance as arrangements must be made and a 1,700 yen parking fee will apply. Comments are closed.
